Sustainability
Education is the key to making our world sustainable, and our students are central to driving this change. I work with both students and teachers at ESF to reduce the impact of the organization on the environment. However, the key challenge we have is changing habits, and this is what we aim to achieve through learning and teaching.

In 2019 I gathered a group of students across the English Schools Foundation's secondary schools to work with a sustainability consultancy company, CKP, to write a sustainability strategy for English Schools Foundation (ESF). The strategy was endorsed by the ESF CEO and her senior management team. The strategy was widely accepted across all 22 schools given its grassroots development by the ultimate stakeholders in relation to the environment; our students. The strategy went through its subsequent review in the 2020/2021 academic year.

In 2020 I started to work with a group of ESF alumni to develop and run the Nature Works Programme in association with The Nature Conservancy in Hong Kong. Nature Works is an 8 month programme for schools in Hong Kong that takes the students from identifying an environmental problem in their schools to prototyping solutions to win seed funding. The programme provides expert workshops in in the data collection phase, a week long summer programme and culminates with a pitch day in front of an expert panel of judges.
